‘The Educators’ student tops in Gujranwala Board

LAHORE (PR): Three-member team of The Educators Head office consisting of Azhar Ahsan, Senior Regional Manager (Central), Shoaib Tariq, Assistant Manager Relationship, Obaid ur Rehman, Territory Incharge, visited The Educators Civil Lines Campus Gujranwala the other day to appreciate Ms Kashaf Zafar Malik who secured the first position in Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Gujranwala SSC (Part-I) 2013 by accomplishing 539 out of 550 marks. She also managed the first position in The Educators, nationwide by achieving 98 percentages. Her efforts were acknowledged with a multimedia Tablet, certificates and other awards.

Ibtesam ul Asad Khan, Principal The Educators Civil Lines Campus, and parents of the students were present on the occasion. Other position holders like Ms Afifa Zahid - Second Position (Central Region) securing 529/550, Ms Ayesha Nazir Chaudhary - Fifth Position (Central Region) securing 525/550, Ms. Areej Javed 523/550 and Ms. Mishal Fatima 500/550 were also encouraged by various prizes & certificates.

The Regional office team also met the teachers and appreciated their contribution as well. Later Ibtesam Ul Asad Khan – Principal Civil Lines Campus thanked the visiting team and appreciated their efforts for encouraging the campus heads, high achievers and their teachers in particular. He acknowledged the efforts/guidance of the Academic department of the Educators and extended his full support in implementing the academic policies of the Educators Head Office in future as well.

LAHORE (PR): A meeting was organized regarding the prevention of animals from ticks under the leadership of Ch Muhammad Arshad Jatt, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Livestock.

Dr Sajid Yoosufani, Secretary Livestock Punjab, Dr Muhammad Nawaz Saeed, Director General (Ext), Dr. Asrar Hussain, Director Communication & Extension, Dr Sana Ullah Bhatti, Director Animal Disease Reporting & Surveillance, Dr Akbar Ali, Director Animal Health, district livestock officers and Veterinary doctors of livestock Department participated in the meeting.  While talking to all members of the meeting, Ch Muhammad Arshad Jatt directed them to take special initiatives to prevent all the animals from ticks in Punjab.

A fatal disease of human beings “Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever” that is commonly known as “Congo Fever” spreads due to ticks in animals. The livestock farmers, butchers, fleshers, veterinary doctors and other people engaged in animal handling can be affected from this disease. According to the policy of Punjab Government, Livestock and Dairy Development Department has issued directions to establish sales points and cattle markets outside the city for sale & purchase of sacrificial animals before Eid-ul-Adha.

During his address, Ch Muhammad Arshad Jatt presaged to examine animals after establishing the check posts at all inter provincial entry points and separate ticks affected animals for the treatment. Make it sure that only healthy animals would let to enter in the city and veterinary doctors as well as para veterinary staff must present at the juncture, he advised.

Dr. Muhammad Nawaz Saeed briefed in the meeting that the animals are under supervision for 24 hours and let them enter in the city after intense checking. Moreover the formation of quarantine yards in cattle markets will serve the public for check up and sale of their animals. The use of lime and anti ticks spray in all cattle markets of the district is ensured and relevant literature is being distributed among the people for their awareness. He also told that 7 special “Mandies” for sale & purchase of sacrificial animals have been established outside the Ring Road in district Lahore. The staff of Livestock and Dairy Development is directed to provide services in 3 shifts during 24 hours. At the end Ch. Muhammad Arshad Jatt, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Livestock warned to not buy ticks affected animals and recommended people to choose healthy and vigorous livestock for immolation.

Emirates expansion

KARACHI/ DUBAI (PR): Emirates’ expansion has reached new heights with the launch of flights to Clark in the Philippines, the inauguration of a route between Milan and New York, and a brand new A380 service to Brisbane – all on the same day in four different continents.

First to take off from Dubai International was EK 338, a Boeing 777-200LR, bound for Clark International in the Philippines. This was followed by EK 205, pushing back for Milan, where the Boeing 777-300ER stops before embarking on a brand new transatlantic connection to New York. Next in line was EK 434, departing Dubai for the airline’s latest A380 destination, Brisbane.

Tim Clark, President, Emirates Airline, said: “Today is an extremely significant day for our network – we are connecting two great cities across the Atlantic, opening an important new gateway into the Philippines, which helps link Filipino communities across the world, and our magnificent flagship aircraft will quietly descend into yet another destination.”

After launching Warsaw, Algiers, Tokyo Haneda and Stockholm so far in 2013, the airline is preparing for the start of services to Conakry in Guinea, Sialkot in Pakistan, Kabul, Kiev, Taipei and Boston in the coming months.

PTCL to ensure benefits

ISLAMABAD (PR): Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has inked an agreement with the CBA, extending numerous financial benefits to the employees, coupled with additional EOBI pension benefits safeguarding their post retirement life.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at PTCL Headquarters, which was attended by senior members of PTCL management and representative of the employees union.
