LAHORE - The 64th Chinese National Day was celebrated at Roots International Schools (RIS) on Tuesday. The event was hosted by RIS CEO Walid Mushtaq. The occasion was graced by the presence of Ambassador of China Mr Sun Weidong and his spouse Madame Bao Jiqing.

The celebrations started by the recitation of Holy Quran, followed by national anthems of both the countries were played. Later, students of Roots International Schools conducted the event both in English and Chinese languages.

Welcome note was given by Walid Mushtaq. He thanked the participants. He said: “Roots International Schools has traveled a long journey to transform students into assertive, solicitous and contemplative individuals in their academic and professional lives.” “Rootsians are cultured and productive community members, who are provided with the national and international opportunities to illuminate the life of the individuals with the extraordinary achievements,” Walid added.  He emphasised on the importance of bilateral relations between Pakistan and China. He said that the long-standing ties between the two countries have been mutually beneficial as China has been referred as "time-tested and all-weather friend".
