Islamabad - The parliamentary body on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will discuss work plan of the committee to build consensus on mega project’s route in coming week. “The parliamentary parties under the chairmanship of Mushahid Hussain will initiate discussion to build consensus on the route in next week (October 8),” said parliamentary sources.
All major political parties san MQM will come up with their proposals on the proposed route. Although the name of MQM member is included in the list, yet the committee has not discussed about the non-presence of the MQM. The MQM’s lawmakers have submitted en-masse resignations last month, which are still not accepted.
This newly-formed committee on China Pakistan Economic Corridor has recently elected Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed as its chairman.
The decision to form committee on this mega project was taken in All Parties Conference (APC) to develop consensus among the parliamentary political forces. This mega project will join China’s south-Western region with Gwadar port.
