Education is prerequisite for development and therefore, the government plans building university campuses in every district across the country during the next three years.
The government attaches great importance to the promotion of education as it can be the real weapon against terrorism and militancy, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ehsan Iqbal said the other day.
He was addressing the participants of laptops and prizes distribution ceremony at University of Gujrat (UoG) Narowal Campus the other day.
Local MPAs - Khawaja Waseem Butt, Rana Manan Ahmed, Sardar Ramaish Singh Arora, Vice Chancellor University of Gujrat (UoG), Director UoG Narowal Campus Sahibzada Faisal and Narowal DCO Syed Najaf Iqbal were also present on the occasion.
Ch Ehsan Iqbal emphasised that it is time to crush terrorism and militancy, ignorance, backwardness and unemployment through the promotion of quality education, particularly in backward areas.

He said that five students - Iqra Naeem, Yusra Iftikhar, Aqsa Sagheer, Mirza Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Umer of UoG Narowal Campus would leave for China on October 5, for getting higher education in China under the auspices of Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, saying that it was a good will gesture by China which would further strengthen the Pakistan-China Friendship.
He claimed that the political opponents are only making ‘high slogans’ of bringing change in the country. “Yes, the PML-N has brought in the real and actual change and has turned around the economy though it had inherited a sick economy.
He said that this is the actual and real change which is direly needed by the nation and the country.
