Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has strongly denounced the continued illegal house arrest of the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and other activists.
The DFP Secretary General, Muhammad Abdullah Tari in a statement issued in Srinagar said the authorities in their arrogance of power have forgotten every promise it had made with the people of Kashmir. “Now, they are even unable to listen to their conscience. The authorities shouldn’t shy away from confessing that their rule is actually based on police raj and black laws,” he added.
He lashed out at the administration for not releasing the Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi despite it that the court issued orders of her release on bail. “Aasiya is being kept behind bars over same false charges for which she spent years in jails,” he deplored.
Abdullah Tari termed the continued illegal detention of party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah as cowardice of authorities and said, “No bullet but talks proved a hollow and deceptive slogan.” He said that Mufti Sayeed was just a puppet and all control was in hands of Delhi and Nagpur.
