Rawalpindi - Punjab Minister for Labour and Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar Saturday said that anti-dengue activities should be further strengthened in union councils from where dengue cases were being reported. He directed to complete anti-dengue fogging drive in high risk areas.

He said this while addressing a meeting at Commissioner Office. Among others, MPA Raja Hanif advocate, PML-N leader Sardar Nasim, Advisor to Chief Minister on Dengue, Dr Waseem Akram, Secretary Health Punjab, Jawad Rafiq Malik, Secretary Local government Khalid Masood chaudhry, Secretary Agriculture Punjab Shehyar Sultan, Secretary Housing urban Development, Commissioner Rawalpindi Zahid Saeed, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sajid Zafar Dal were present on the occasion.

The minister said that negligence would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against those showing carelessness in performing their duties.

He said dengue could only be eliminated with coordinated and combined efforts as it was our common enemy, therefore every single individual and government departments should discharge their responsibilities for the elimination of the disease with devotion and diligence. “This year aggressive approach was being adopted to cope with the situation and fight against dengue virus in an effective manner,” he added.
