Rawalpindi - Unknown callers threatened to blow up three educational institutions in Murree, reliable sources disclosed to The Nation yesterday.
In light of the threatening calls, police have beefed up security around the three schools and in the hill station to avert any untoward incident, a police officer confirmed.
According to sources, an unknown caller made a telephone call from mobile number (0307-5425687) to the administrations of two schools namely Jesus Merry and Presentation Convent located near Pindi Point and threatened to blow up the schools with bombs very soon. They added that the administrations of both Christian schools immediately brought the matter into notice of local police, which came into action and enhanced the security of schools.   
Similarly, a male teacher of Army Public School Murree received a phone call from cell number (0305-8273383) during which the caller impersonated himself as SP Kohat Police and told the teacher that he (SP) had got information from a premier intelligence agency that unknown miscreants would launch bomb attack on the school between October 10 to 20, 2015. Sources added that the unknown caller ditched the phone call when the teacher tried to obtain more information from him. The matter was taken up with the local police, which immediately retrieved the data of the mobile number. The ownership of mobile number was identified as Sohail Ahmed Abbasi; CNIC# 37405-0664302-1; resident of DD/4-C Guslhan Dadan Khan Murree Road Rawalpindi,” sources informed.
Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Murree Malik Rafaqat when contacted claimed that nothing such happened and no caller threatened any school administration. In the meanwhile, SHO said that police have enhanced security of the schools and in the areas to tackle any threat of terror. CPO Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi and SSP (Operations) Karamat Ullah Malik did not respond to several phones calls made by The Nation to know their official version on the matter of great concern.
