ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has shifted the swimming training camp from Islamabad to Karachi which was underway at PSB Swimming Pool for the Commonwealth Games 2010. An official of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) told reporters that the camp was shifted to the port city due to administrative reasons because the PSB had to undertake some maintenance work at the swimming pool. Secretary Pakistan Swimming Federation (PSF) Major Majid Wasim expressed his reservations over the decision and said it would hurt the preparations for Commonwealth Games scheduled in India in 2010. "We have no proper facilities to train national outfits in Karachi and this sudden shifting of the camp would disturb the preparations," he said. Wasim further said that it was not fair to shift the camp from Islamabad to Karachi without consultation of the PSF. "We have accommodated our players and officials in Islamabad for the training camps and they have turned into circumstances but this decision of the Pakistan Sports Board damages the practice of the swimmers," he said.
