ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has requested the Pakistan Sports Trust (PST) to provide financial support of Rs.8 millions for the five International Futures Tennis tournaments which will be held in the last quarter of this year 2008 at the different venues of Pakistan. A source close to PTF told The Nation on Wednesday that the PTF would organise three ITF tournaments for men and two for women. "Pakistan will host two women's events for the first time in history as the federation will have to pay Rs.4 million in prize money. Over Rs. two million will be spent on the other needs," he added. "The ITF tennis tournament will be played soon after the Ramadan in October at PTF Tennis Complex, Garden Avenue here. The federation is also making efforts to get reasonable sponsorship for the international events. They need huge money to meet the financial challenges," he observed. The PTF wrote a letter to head of the PST for the financial help.
