LAHORE - Traders, professionals and political workers will take part in the lawyers' protest rally scheduled to take place here Thursday (today) against the as yet not made restoration of deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and others of his colleagues to the judiciary after they were sacked through the PCO on November 3 by the then Army Chief Pervez Musharraf. Representatives of the lawyers' traders, professors, teachers, khaksars, political parties including PTI, PKMAP, JUP and others met the lawyers on Wednesday and reiterated the commitment for taking active participation in the lawyers protest today. The representatives also announced to send their members to Islamabad for participating in the lawyers' demonstration outside the Parliament building on Thursday. The meeting stated the judges who took fresh oath had negated their own stand they maintained for 17 months for the independence of the judiciary. The meeting condemned their act. The representatives said whenever Law Minister Farooq H Naek talked of upholding the Constitution, he in fact, asked for accepting the November 3 PCO, which for him was a part of the Constitution. The participants were hopeful of the success of their movement. The meeting was presided over by President LHCBA Anwar Kamal while Secretary Bar Rana Asadullah Khan, Shafqat Mahmmood Chouhan, Rabia Bajwa, Prof Syeda Deep, Safdar Nisar, Eng Saleemullah Khan, Abdul Wahab Khan Niazi, Abdul Khan Achakzai, Amiral Azeem, Sheikh Maqbool Ahmad, Rana Aslam, Munawar Lodhi and Mian Shahid Iqbal among others were the participants.
