MINGORA - Qazi Safi Ullah, an activist of Tehreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Mohammadi (TNSM) and former judge of a Taliban court, has surrendered to the security forces, officials disclosed on Thursday. Meanwhile, three miscreants were killed in clash with a traditional Lashkar while several militants were arrested during the ongoing military action. As per details, Qazi Safi Ullah surrendered in Bar Shaur village, a stronghold of Taliban near Matta. He had acted as a judge of a Taliban court and awarded death sentences to a number of persons in different cases besides deciding a number of land disputes according to the directives of Taliban commanders. Qazi Ghulam Farooq, District Police Officer, while confirming the surrender said that Safi had been shifted to an unknown place for investigations. Terming his surrender a big achievement, the District Police Officer said that Taliban militants were demoralised and had no option other than surrendering to the security forces. Meanwhile, three militants were killed in clash with traditional Lashkar at village Galooch and six hand grenades were recovered by police from a house at Rahimabad. Moreover, dead bodies of two militants, Roozi Akbar and Ansar, have been recovered from Panr and Haji Baba respectively. Some unknown persons mysteriously had killed them. Similarly, the security forces arrested two notorious militants, Muhammad Nisar and Abid. Both of the arrested militants were involved in spying for Taliban militants under the command of militant commander Marwan. The arrested militants reportedly in the preliminary investigations revealed that they were eyewitnesses that four personnel of the security forces were slaughtered at Matta and four civilians at Barikot. They also said that they had received training of militancy and terrorism at Mattas mountainous region. They confirmed their involvement in plundering shops and other properties also. The security forces arrested a militant commander namely Dao Anwar from Qambar area. The army officials while confirming the arrest said that he had been shifted to an unknown place for interrogation.
