I would like to thank the media for the coverage it provided to the first anniversary of Ahmad Faraz, the great poet. Having served under him in the National Book Foundation, I would like to share my impressions of him with your readers. Faraz worked tirelessly for NBF and was instrumental in making this institution what it is today. He visited our Peshawar office many times just as he visited all our regional offices. He was the man who made both federal and provincial governments cough up funds for the upkeep of NBF. He was honoured with many awards by the government of Pakistan. He was also respected a lot in India and whenever he went there, as he did many times, people with love for poetry congregated around him. The world loved him for his craft. May God bless his soul. -MURAD ALI MOHMAND, Peshawar, via e-mail, August 26.
