LAHORE The death toll swollen to 39 as two more women succumbed to wounds at various hospitals in the Punjab Capital in the wee hours of Friday. Sonia Bibi, a resident of Bhatti Gate and Samina, a resident of Shahdara Town, who suffered severe injuries during the blasts died on early Friday morning. Medical officers said that Sonia was admitted at the Services Hospital minutes after she suffered multiple wounds at different parts of her body when suicidal bombers exploded their vests amidst the mourning procession at Karbala Gamay Shah. She was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the doctors also tried their best to save her life. She breathed her last at 4am. The other woman, Samina, was admitted in the Lahore General Hospital. Police concerned handed over the bodies to their heirs after necessary medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, Jaffriya Alliance claimed that not less than 105 victims of blasts were still under medical treatment at different leading hospitals of the City. The condition of 22 was also told critical till filing of this report.
