Young Shooters in Flood Relief Soccer Cup quarters

LAHORE Lanky spearhead Sheraz turned out to be the hero with two-breath taking goals as Young Shooters overpowered Pency FC 4-1 and booked their entry in the quarter finals of Fair Play Flood Relief Fund Football Tournament. Saddars Young Shooters led 2-0 at interval with goals through midfielder Majid Khan, who converted 11th minute penalty given by Referee Shams Pervez, and Sheraz (23rd min). Midfielder Tahir put the issue beyond Pency grasp in the 47th minute by making it 3-0. Substitute Subhan pulled one back in the 51st minute for Pency, a local club from Gulshan Ravi. Sheraz rounded off the tally in the 61st minute. Young Shooters became the eighth quarter-finalist after Model Town FC, Raiders FC, Quaid FC, Usmania FC, Universal Baba Cargo, Gulshan Ravi and St. Michael. Referee Shams Pervez supervised the match under Match Commissioner Chaudhry Asghar and Referee Assessor Naseem Uddin. Younus Anthony, Afzal Bari were Assistant Referees while Liaquat acted as 4th official. Saturday (4 Sep) Quarter-finals: Universal Baba Cargo v Gulshan Ravi (8 PM), Usmania v Young Shooters (9 PM).
