Ghagra River floodwater enters Pakistan

BAHAWALNAGAR - The floodwater of Ghagra River has entered Pakistan from its upper catchments in India. Low and slow flood water is flowing into its old course between Chak 240 /HL and 241/HL towards Cholistan tehsil Fortabbas. It is stated that at present 4-5 feet floodwater is flowing through the boarder post of Janat Gul. However, no alarming situation is ahead as the Indian river floodwater usually entered Pakistani territory in August every year. The floodwater is mostly utilised in desert area of natural forest Dodla. The dykes on Ghagra river have already been strengthened. People of the town also suffered outages of over 20 hours in different places due to the failure of transformers and electricity supply lines.
