LAHORE Efforts have been stepped up to set up a new group of leaders with 'unblemished political past to counter both the PPP and the PML-N and their partners in the next elections. The new group is expected to be made public by the end of the current month, after which all energies will be focused on making it a formidable political force. According to knowledgeable sources, PML-Q leaders Ishaq Khan Khakwani, Jamal Leghari, Awais Leghari and Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Jehangir Tareen, Sikandar Bosan, Sardar Tufail, Tahir Shah, Dr GG Jamal, Omar Farooq Miankhel and Dr Javed plan will join the new group. At a later stage, the group will also consider joining hands with Imran Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf. All good people should be on the same side of the divide, said a leader who is trying to gather the people of integrity on one platform. Office-bearers of the group will be announced only after maximum people join it. Well run the new group/party like the Conservatives or Republicans do. Leaders will be responsible to the party, said the leader. The group will highlight the failures of the PPP and the PML-N governments.
