SADIQABAD Prominent political leaders including the prime minister have started making efforts to bridge the widening gulf between former federal minister Jehangir Khan Tareen and PML-F Punjab President Ahmed Mahmood. According to impeccable sources, those leaders who are playing a pivotal role in this regard include Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, PML-F Chairman Pir Sahab Pagara, PML-Likeminded leader Humayun Akhtar Khan and Senator Salim Saifullah. Moreover, the sources added, the mediators wanted to arrange a meeting between the two leaders in the Punjab capital. In fact, Mr Ahmad had dismissed the sugar mills management officials appointed by Mr Tareen and these officials sympathies were with the latter, they said, adding that some of these officials were also forced to resign.
