Police provide VIP protocol to rapist

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - The heirs to a minor girl, who was allegedly raped by a schoolteacher a couple of days back, staged a protest demonstration against Badami Bagh police, accusing the police of providing VIP protocol to the accused. The family members along with dozens of local residents stopped vehicular activity on Ring Road and shouted slogans against DSP, SHO and other police officers. The gridlock continued for two hours. Nimra, 10, daughter of Muhammad Tahir, a resident of Khokhar Road was raped by schoolteacher Farhan on second day of Eid. According to protestors, the girl was rushed to a nearby hospital for her medical treatment where her condition is yet critical. On the other side, the protestors claimed minutes after the incident they approached Badami Bagh police and got arrested the accused. I swear these police officers are providing cover to the accused and even they are giving VIP protocol to the rapist, one of the protestors said. They demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan, IG Punjab and the Chief Minister to take notice of the incident and provide them justice. Meanwhile, a good number of police contingent reached the site and after negotiation, they dispersed the protestors with assurance of justice.
