QUETTA - Expressing resentment over the investigation in Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti’s murder case, Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered for re-recording the statement of the then Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao.
This order was issued by the Division Bench comprising Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhel and Justice Mustafa Mengal while hearing bail petitions of former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and former Chief Minister Balochistan and sitting Federal Minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf, here on Monday.
Sherpao contended that he was completely blank on the murder of late Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.
“Why you did not tender resignation when you were not being taken on board by the responsible”, the court remarked.
The counsel of Jam Yousuf, Illyas Khan Advocate apprised court that his client was ready for recording his statement but we have not been contacted by any official so far.
Expressing displeasure over the ignorance of Jam Yousuf about the high profile action in Balochistan, the BHC Bench said that how it was possible being the then Chief Minister Balochistan he was unaware.
“He should have tendered his resignation soon after murder of Nawab Akbhar Khan Bugti”,the court added.
The court issued directives to the Crime Branch of Balochistan police to furnish complete report before court for next hearing.
Later extending the interim bail of Sherpao and Jam Yousuf, the court adjourned the hearing till October.
Iftikhar Hussain Gilani and Nasir Khan Yousufzai represented Aftab Sherpao and Illyas Khan represented Jam Yousuf.
