ISLAMABAD - The local leaders of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) on Tuesday urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take suo moto notice of Rimsha case.
Kamran George Khokhar and Shamoon Gill, the PML-N local leaders, in a joint statement, said that Hafiz Mohammed Khalid Chishti, the prayer leader of the mosque in Rimsha’s area who submitted the burnt papers as evidence against Rimsha in order to implicate her in the blasphemy case. Shamoon said Khalid Chishti action was a conspiracy to create hatred among the Muslims and the Christians, who have been living together in the country since decades in peaceful manner. He said such elements needed to be exposed and awarded exemplary punishment to them so that no one can misuse the blasphemy law.
He said that government should keep an eye on the nefarious elements to misuse the blasphemy law and if anyone is found involved in such activities even in future should be dealt with iron hands. George said that Christians like Muslims are peace-loving citizens and they have given sacrifices for the development of Pakistan. Nadeem Khokhar, Aurangzeb and Shehzad Khokar were are present on this occasion.
