NANKANA SAHIB - Vowing to stamp out corruption, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders came down hard on the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for, what they called, promoting the corruption that has been swallowing the country from within.

"The masses must come forward to get rid of the cruel system because they are being attacked with fuel bombs by corrupt and inefficient rulers of PPP and its allies while the PML-N has been backing the coalition to hide corruption in the name of democracy," said PTI leader Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed while talking to a party delegation from Nankana.

Sheikh Abdul Khaliq, Rai Asgher Ali Bhatti, Muzafar Hussain Shah, Mehar Asgher Padhyar, Sh Naseer Ahmed, Rana Ali Ameer Joyia, Nasar Hussain Jinjuwa, Naveed Hussain Wahala, Dr M Ishaq Barister Zafarullah, Arshad Sahi, Ch M Akram, Haji Arshad Nazir and Sardar Iftekhar Dogar met him at a local hotel in Lahore.

Rasheed said: "Our rulers are doing nothing to save our own people, including women and children, from drone attacks while energy crisis looms large but the government has been busy with increasing fuel prices." "Unemployment have been surging while unrest among the people have reached its peak," he added.

The visiting delegates expressed concerns over alleged reports about consultation and issuance of tickets by some local party leaders during Shah Mahmood Qureshi's visit to attend Iftar and Eid Milan parties. The PTI leadership appreciated district leaders' team work.

Sajjad Haider Randhwa, Rana Muhammad Aslam, Engr Sheikh Shahid Mahmood, Ch Muhammad Yaquoob former IG, Rai Ali Zulqarnain, Ali Tariq Cheema, Rashad Ameeruddin and others said the people had pinned hope on the PTI national to bring about a change thus the party must step up its effort for getting rid of status quo.

They said the PTI would "adopt the policies to bring prosperity to the country and remove the sense of deprivation". "Our transparent and good governance will stamp out the Thana and Patwari cultures while uniform education policy, eradication of corruption, better opportunities for employment and tax culture will be introduced and foreign investment will be attracted to Pakistan."

"National institution like PIA, Pakistan Steel Mills, Pakistan Railways will revamped. The PTI would ensure good governance to revive the spirit of democracy." They regretted that the rulers were using huge funds on advertisements from national exchequer without any hesitation to hoodwink the people.

The PTI leaders assured that some opportunists who recently joined our party on the assumption of their personal benefits and interests would not be provided space in the coming party elections. They claimed that more than a million people had joined the PTI during the membership campaign, making history. They vowed to conduct transparent intra-part poll scheduled to be commence from September 15.
