LAHORE: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek yesterday expelled Aamir Koreja from the party. He was the additional general secretary of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s PAT.

Koreja, Pir of Kot Mithan Sharif, had joined the party in 2014 and contested election in by-poll held at NA-154 Lodhran seat.

The reasons for his ouster were yet not clear as PAT spokesperson and Koreja could not be accessed on phone. However, in a video message Koreja stated that he was removed from the party through a conspiracy. He demanded of the PAT chairman to take notice of the issue. “PAT’s anti-government movement cannot be successful until a group under the leadership of Khuram Nawaz Gandapur remains operational in the party,” he alleged.–Staff Reporter

Koreja said that party members who were loyal to PAT, including Raheeq Abbasi, Hanif Mustafavi, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz and others were also removed from the party.
