The undying spirit

August 22, 2016 will be marked as the day when history repeated itself. The Pakistan test cricket team was declared as the best test side for the second time in the 69 years of the country’s coming into existence. All of this is nothing short of a milestone for a team which was buried under the dirt of politics and controversy almost 6 years ago. One man thought otherwise and led his side all the way to the top in a very short span of time

While Misbah Ul Haq may seem to have a reserved and no show personality, it’s his calmness and positive attitude that made the Pakistan cricket team what it is today. The credit for this landmark goes to the entire team but the highest of praises go to ‘King Misbah’.

As a die-hard fan of cricket, I hope to see Misbah Ul Haq and his team play as brilliantly in the future as they played against New Zealand and Australia in England this year. It is the team’s responsibility to safeguard their position. The team has a very bright future ahead if it continues to play with the same spirit under which it is playing right now. Hopefully, this time the men in green will not disappoint us.

RAACIKH ASGHAR,
