Japan's U.N. ambassador on Saturday requested an emergency meeting of the Security Council to discuss North Korea's rocket launch. No time for the meeting was announced, but it could take place as soon as Sunday. Security Council diplomats said arranging such a meeting usually take at least half a day. In a letter to the president of the Security Council, Japanese Ambassador Yukio Takasu requested the council "convene an urgent meeting of the Security Council to consider the launch by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea."
