LAHORE - The 18th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey Tournament will begin from today (Sunday) in Ipoh, Malaysia. All the five participating teams from Pakistan, India, Malaysia, New Zealand and Egypt already reached there. After reaching to Ipoh on April 2 Pakistan team had two practice sessions daily. Pakistan will play its opening match against Malaysia at 4 pm (PST), while the second match will be played between India and Egypt. All the matches will be live telecast on ESPN T.V Channel. Manager Pakistan hockey team and secretary PHF Muhammad Asif Bajwa said that the physical fitness level of the players is very good now and the team is hoping to get good results in the tournament. All the participating teams are well prepared for the tournament and we will not taking easy to any opponent. "The tournament director has allowed the Pakistan team to use heart beat polar device during the matches. After using this system the physical fitness level of the players will be observed in a much better way," Bajwa maintained. The Pakistan team has already been using this system from the training camp in Lahore. One of the belts of this device will be placed on the chest of the player and on another side team management can watch the heart beat level of the player on computer during the game and after watching this graph the management can asses the fitness level of the players. This system is already used in Europe and many other countries for hockey, football and other sports.
