7,000-kg marijuana seized in Karachi

KARACHI - Karachi police on Friday recovered over 7,000-kilogramme marijuana worth 600 million rupees from Rashid Minhas Road, Karachi.
DIG Munir Shaikh, in a press conference, revealed that police on routine checking intercepted a trailer near Moti Mehal stop and recovered the marijuana and arrested six accused persons of the drug mafia including a man and his two sons.
Muhammad Akhter, Muhammad Ziab and Hayat Muhammad were arrested on the spot while remaining three persons were arrested on the information of the accused men. Police said the gang sought to smuggle the stuff abroad where it cost millions of dollars.
