ISLAMABAD - The session of National Assembly was adjourned on Friday due to lack of quorum, as treasury benches failed to complete required quorum of at least 86 lawmakers.

The house with thin presence of lawmakers from both sides of the aisle could only take up question-hour session.

Deputy Speaker NA Murtaza Javed Abbasi in an apparent move to complete the required strength suspended the house for five minutes but even then only 25 lawmakers were present in the house.

The Pakistan People’s Party lawmakers did not attend the proceedings, as most of them were busy in the 35th death anniversary of PPP founding Chairman Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in Garhi Khuda Bux.

The house was supposed to take up agenda items, including two calling attention notices and introduction and passage of the Services Tribunals (Amendment) Bill, 2013.
