Under-training team calls on CCPO

LAHORE - A 13-member delegation of under-training officers of 41st Common at Civil Service Academy led by Syndicate Commander SSP Malik Tariq met Lahore CCPO Ch Shafique Ahmed at his office Friday. SSP (Admn.) Rana Shahzad Akbar was also present on the occasion, according to a press release.
The CCPO gave a detailed briefing to the delegation on the working of police department, crime control strategy and the difference between urban and rural policing. The members of the delegation asked various questions about street crime and situation at police stations in the provincial metropolis.
The CCPO informed the delegation that Lahore police has set up a facilitation centre at Liberty Market for providing one-window facility to the citizens regarding obtaining of license, character certificate verification and registration of FIR.
He said that citizens coming to Liberty Market for shopping or any other purpose can apply at the center for driving license, character certificate for travel abroad or obtaining copy of FIR.
He said that Lahore police is also planning to establish six more such centers in the city.
