Outdated Pakistan Railways

The railways system has been computerised and equipped with latest technology and Europeans and Asians currently operate the fastest high speed trains, Pakistan Railways is still using outdated communication system, archaic Train Direction Control System and obsolete rail crossing locking technology. This relics of the British Raj is being used not only to lock and to unlock rail crossing gates but is also being used to lower the signal in order to allow a train to pass. The most of the telegraph equipment dates back to the days of the British Raj. The jumbo ancient telephones are still being used to communicate from cabin to cabin and switch operators, who guide trains. The over all railway system needs introduction of updated technology and computerised system to make trains fast and safe.
