GWADAR - A 61-member delegation from the Chinese province of Xinjian reached here Monday and inaugurated Gwador Port Free Zone. The delegation was led by General Secretary of Communist Party, Zhang Chunxian. The head of the delegation inaugurated Gwadar Port Free Zone at the Port Area here.
Earlier, the Governor of Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai and other officials received the delegation at the airport. On the occasion, Achakzai said that there are immense opportunities for investment in Gwadar and China is interested in the investment in various sectors.
The head of the delegation while speaking said that friendly ties between China and Pakistan were strengthening day by day. At a ceremony regarding quality education and public health, he said that China is actively taking steps for the development of Gwadar.
The Chairman of District Council, Babu Gulab, appreciated the Chinese steps in this regard. Zhang Chunxian provided uniforms to students of Model High School and GDA School Gwadar. Some 3,000 students of other schools would also be provided with uniforms.
It was pointed out that higher education for 20 students of Gwadar would be arranged in China. The delegation also visited a Chinese memorial in the precincts of Gwadar Port and placed flowers there.
The Chinese delegation also visited the Gwadar Port. Chairman of Gwadar Port, Dostian Khan Jamaldini said that this port would prove to be a game changer for Pakistan and serve as a gateway and centre for economic and commercial activities.
