KASUR-Police arrested a total of 606 outlaws including 157 proclaimed offenders and 16 members of four inter-district dacoit gangs during operations conducted in March.

According to a police spokesman, the police busted 16 members of four inter-district gangs and recovered Rs2 million worth looted valuables and illegal arms from their possession.

The police also arrested 157 proclaimed offenders and 64 court absconders wanted in different cases of murder, dacoity and robbery like heinous crime.

During a special campaign against drug-peddlers, the police arrested 181 drug-peddlers and recovered 57kg of hashish, 2,113 litres of liquor and 60 litres of lahen. The police also seized two distilleries.

The police also arrested 107 suspects for possessing illegal arms and recovered a Kalashnikov, three rifles, 19 guns, 72 pistols, six carbines and hundreds of bullets from them. The police raided a gambling den, arrested 81 gamblers and recovered Rs315,000 from them.

The police also conducted operations under National Action Plan (NAP) and arrested 26 people for violating Amplifier Act, 29 held for violation of Tenant Act and 19 people were booked for violation of Security Ordinance. The police spokesman said that the police were utilising all available resources to protect life, honour and property of the common man.
