Four securitymen among 9 die in NW

MIRANSHAH - At least nine persons including four security personnel have been killed and over a dozen others were injured in clashes between security forces and Taliban militants. The officials at Miranshah, Headquarters of North Waziristan Agency (NWA), informed that clashes started when the militants attacked the security forces camp with rockets late Monday night and killed four security personnel. In retaliation, the security forces targeted the suspected hideouts of Taliban militants with mortar shells. The local tribesmen informed that during retaliatory action, some shells landed over the house of Mir Shah Jehan at Data Khel village and two women died and three others including two children got injured in the mishap. Similarly three persons were killed and four other injured when shells hit the house of Madad Khan at village Chashma. The injured persons were rushed to Agency Headquarters Hospital, Miranshah. The condition of several of them is stated to be critical. So far no one has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
