KOT ADDU (Online) Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that he will not leave the flood victims in the lurch and resolved that every measure would be ensured to rescue the affectees. Talking to media during his visit to flood-hit areas in Kot Addu, he vowed that Punjab government is utilising every available source to relieve the flood victims. He also urged Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to give Rs 10 billion grant to Punjab to rehabilitate the flood victims in the province, adding that if the federal government didnt ensure availability of grant, the Punjab government will abolish its 'Sasti Roti Scheme but will not leave the affectees in the lurch. The Chief Minister further stated that Punjab government has been doing its best by constituting relief camps in flood-hit areas and the affected people were being provided with food and medicines in the camps. He also reiterated that Punjab government wouldnt sit idle until it rehabilitates the affectees in their areas.
