BAHAWALPUR - Division Commissioner Muhammad Khan Khichi said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif sanctioned a project of Rs50 million to make Bahawalpur green city.

He said this while addressing a meeting here the other day.

He said that under the project, several parks of City would be renovated and green belt would be made along roads. MNA Baligur Rehman, Bahawalpur Development Authority Director General and DCO Dr Naeem Rauf attended the meeting.

The DCO said that that Bahawalpur Developmental Authority (BDA) would work on the project of planting trees throughout city with the grant provided by the CM. It was decided in the meeting that beside Airport Road Canal Park, Islamia Colony Park, Satellite Town Park, Ladies Park and Fish Pond Park will be planted with trees.

11 poachers arrested: The Wildlife Protection Special Force has launched a crackdown on the illegal hunting in Cholistan and arrested 11 poachers in Cholistan.

Wildlife Protection Special Squad In-Charge Tahir Amin Joyia informed that efforts were underway to save the rare animals and birds from hunters and poachers and about 11 persons had been arrested under different charges.

 who were engaged in unlawful from different parts of Cholistan.

The arrested illegal hunters were, Munir Ahmed, Fayyaz, Muhammad Rafique, Umer, Pervez, Mousab, Javed, Noor Nabi, Bakhat Ali, Allah Wadhaya and Muhammad Iqbal.
