ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Samir Iftikhar would make his debut in the qualifying of ITF US dollars 15,000 Aegon Pro series to be held at Cumberland Tennis Club UK from 6th to 10th of this month, this was revealed by former Davis Cupper and father of Samir Tayyab Iftikhar on Saturday.

He said India’s Somiv Daverman is the top seed in the main draw along with 4th seed and world number 333 Richard Bloomfield of Great Britain. This would be Samir’s first appearance at the ITF futures tournament, he said and added Samir had offered his services for 2012 Davis Cup against Philippines to PTF from US where he is currently on 4-year athletic and educational scholarship at University of New Mexico and finished his first year in May with flying colours. Samir would be rejoining the university on 20th for hectic 2012-13 season where his scholarship has been raised to 90% in lieu of his achievements but he still needs US dollars 6000 a year Tayyab Iftikhar  has appealed  to CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif for financial assistance.
