BAHAWALPUR -The commissioner of Bahawalpur Division said that a survey would be conducted regarding leased out lands in the division. Muhammad Khan Khichi added that additional dues will be charged from the persons who have taken a piece of land for agricultural purpose but using it for commercial purposes.

In the meeting, all the matters regarding the leased out lands were discussed.

The meeting also formulated a policy in this regard. The commissioner directed to start the survey and sought a report as well. He further said that on the Punjab chief minister's directions, all the approved Kachi Abadis inhabitants would get ownership rights as soon and on this matter, the CM had constituted a committee.

He added that in the Punjab province, ownership rights would be given to Kachi Abadis residents on urgent basis.

The commissioner directed the officials concerned to take instant steps, saying that no deserving poor will be left alone. Bahawalpur DCO Dr Naeen Rauf, Bahawalnagar DCO Asim Iqbal, Rahim Yar Khan Additional District Collector Wajid Shah and Additional Commissioner Coordination Shahid Majeed attended the meeting.
