Nadeem confident of winning LCCA election

LAHORE - Former Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) president Khawaja Nadeem Ahmad Monday said that the association’s on August 8 would bring the makeshift arrangements to an end which were hampering its efficiency.
Nadeem, who is considered a strong candidate for the upcoming elections as he enjoys the overall majority in the all three zones of LCCA, claimed that his re-election on August 8 would usher a new era of club cricket development in Lahore. “Due to make-shift arrangements of putting the LCCA under an interim committee, the city’s cricket suffered a lot during the past 10 months. If elected, I would focus on 'club cricket' revival and its promotion.”
"It is very easy to disrupt the smooth flow of progress but it takes a lot to put the things back on track. We have to start from zero and we are fully committed to launch a rare guard action for the betterment of Lahore cricket with the cooperation of our affiliated zones which extended their all-out assistance for a similar cause in our previous tenure,” he added.
He said if elected he would take all the stake holders into confidence to get their input before unfolding his future plans. "What I am planning is to re-launch cricket league and to involve all the active cricket clubs in it and we have a couple of sponsors who are ready to support us the way they did when we launched our cricket league few years ago.”
“Our affiliated zones are also ready to start their zonal tournaments for the benefit of their respective clubs and the LCCA will be extending financial assistance to organise such tournaments which will focus on the uplift of the club cricket,” he said.
“We are confident that together at one platform we can make gradual progress to re-establish LCCA status as an institution to tape talent and to polish the skills of budding players helping them to become quality cricketers in due course of time,” he concluded.
