Islamabad - The military top brass on Tuesday reviewed in detail the internal and external security situation and reaffirmed its total resolve to respond the entire spectrum of threat.

The corps commanders conference chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters Tuesday, reviewed the state of readiness and vigil being maintained by troops along the Line of Control (LoC).

In his remarks as quoted by the ISPR, General Raheel Sharif said the armed forces of Pakistan were fully prepared to respond the entire spectrum of threat and expressed complete satisfaction over noticeable improvement in the overall security situation of the country.

Referring to the ongoing peace talks between Afghan government and Afghan Taliban, Gen Raheel said it was the only credible way to achieve lasting peace, adding that detractors and spoilers were against peace and prosperity of Afghanistan and the region.

During the Conference, participants discussed at length the internal and external security situation in the country and reviewed progress of Operation Zarb-e-Azb and ongoing intelligence-based operations in the country.
