LAHORE - Dacoits held up a petrol pump owner and his cashier in Model Town and snatched away Rs3.2million, police said on Tuesday.

A car-rider Tahir told the police that he along with his cashier Sajid was going to deposit cash at a nearby bank when two motorcyclists intercepted his vehicle in J-Block. The gunmen collected the cash bag and fled on their two-wheeler.

The police reached the spot when the dacoits had escaped. The Model Town police have registered a road robbery case against unidentified gunmen and are investigating with no arrest made yet.

Meanwhile, five gunmen forced their entry into Wahdat Furniture located in Garhi Shahu police precincts and fled after snatching Rs 200,000 at gunpoint. Two gunmen entered into the shop of Sarfraz in the limits of Civil Lines police and snatched away cash and valuables worth Rs 38,000. The police are investigating.
