KARACHI - A woman allegedly burnt her husband to death on Thursday in New Karachi’s Bilal Colony. The 37-year-old resident of F.B. area, Muhammad Suhail, had gone to conciliate with his disgruntled wife at her home. His wife reportedly, with the help of her family members, doused Suhail with petrol and set him on fire.
According to deceased Suhail’s sister, her brother had married 15 years ago and was a father of four girls. Suhail’s wife used to quarrel with him regularly, said the sister. She alleged that this time around, her brother had gone to meet his kids and reconcile with his wife; however, he didn’t return home alive. According to the deceased’s wife, he used to abuse her most of the time and this time also she went home due to his behaviour. His mental condition wasn’t stable, said the wife, adding that he had self-immolated. Police said that a case has been registered naming five people. The deceased’s wife, father-in-law and a relative were arrested. According to the investigation officer, raids are being conducted to arrest more suspects.
MAN STABBED TO DEATH
A man was stabbed to death within the limits of Sohrab Goth police jurisdiction. Sources said some unknown persons killed one Ghaus, 30, under Sehrab Goth Bridge subjecting him to stabs upon stabs of knife and made good escape from the scene. Some persons informed the police about the incident. Police rushed to the scene, took the body into custody and shifted it to Jinnah Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Hospital sources said that some unknown persons have stabbed him to death. Police said that the victim was resident of Sohrab Goth and hailed from KP. The murder is said to be outcome of old enmity. The police registered a case against suspects and started investigation.
Separately, the Nazimabad police during two different raids arrested three persons including a suspect, identified as M Akhtar who had managed to escape from Rizwia Police Station.
Sources said that Akhtar had managed to escape from the lock up of Rizvia Police Station two days before. The police have again arrested and registered case against him. Police said the accused was caught red-handed during a street crime.
Meanwhile, Nazimbad police also arrested two suspects in an injured condition during an encounter near Gole Market. Police said they spotted both suspects looting one Farhan near Gool Market When police signaled them, they opened indiscriminate firing and in retaliatory firing from police both the suspects were injured. Both were arrested and rushed to a hospital.
Weapons, motorcycles and other explosives were recovered from their possession.
