ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) Friday rejected recent increase in the prices of petroleum products and urged the government to revise the anti-poor decision. In this connection, PTI workers and supporters held a protest demonstration in front of the National Press Club Islamabad to raise their voice against hike in prices of PoL products and termed the decision a brutal act against the poor masses. The protestors were shouting slogans against the government and had also raised placards inscribed with demands for early revision of the decision. Speaking on the occasion, PTI Islamabad Chapters Organizer Amir Mughal said that PTI categorically rejected governments anti-poor decision. He said that increase in prices of petroleum products would further make difficult the lives of poor. He stressed the government to revise the decision and give relief to the masses. Central President PTI Women Wing Fozia Qasuri said that poor people of the country already had no proper food and shelter and the government was further adding to their miseries. She said that it was a mini-budget, which she said would affect prices of every commodity in the country. Dia Rehman, Media Advisor PTI Women Wing termed the government decision to increase PoL prices a drone attack on poor masses and regretted that the opposition parties were keeping mum on this brutality. She also said that the so-called opposition parties were also responsible for the economic massacre of the poor. She also extended PTIs support to workers of print and electronic media and pledged that PTI would protest against any governments decision to curb media freedom. She said that government harassed journalists to hide its corruption and malpractices. Dia further said that PTI played leading role in the struggle for restoration of deposed judges and would also be found at the forefront in the protest against proposed restrictions on media.
