Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said Sunday that the assassination of the Iranian nuclear scientist aims at spreading fear among the Iranian scientists, the official IRNA news agency reported. Behind such assassinations are the Zionist regime and Western countries which want to stop Iran from achieving scientific and technological abilities and think that by doing such acts they can create fear among Iranian scientists, Vahidi was quoted as saying. Those who did not condemn assassination of nuclear scientists in Iran are partners to those criminals, Vahidi told reporters implying the Western countries. In two separate terrorist acts in northern Tehran last Monday, Iranian nuclear scientist Dr. Majid Shahriari was killed and Dr. Fereidoon Abbasi was wounded when they were driving to work. Iranian officials accused the West and Israel for assassination on the two Iranian nuclear scientists.
