LAHORE - The eighth convocation ceremony of Lahore School of the Economics was held on Saturday at the institutions main campus at Burki Road, says a press release. Established in 1993, the institution obtained charter in 1997 and since then has been a feeder of progressive and highly skilled workforce in the fields of marketing, economics and finance. The convocation ceremony was held to confer degrees to around 1,000 students belonging to varied disciplines of BBA (Hons), B.Sc. (Hons), MBA, M.Sc., M.Phil and Ms Shahid Amjad Chauhry was the chief guest of the occasion. In his address the Rector of Lahore School of Economics highlighted how the institution has evolved in a short span of time to a renowned center of learning producing alumni that possess highest professional acumen and academic knowledge. He said that the institution uses research-based learning and also impresses equally on the importance of extra-curricular activities. After the address the chief guest conferred degrees to students and gold medals were awarded to students achieving academic excellence. The chief guest, after the awarding degrees, said a few words and commended LSE for its remarkable contribution in educating the youth of the nation.
