LAHORE PML-N spokesman Ahsan Iqbal said on Saturday the WikiLeaks disclosures had made it all the more necessary that all parties agree to the Charter of Pakistan proposed by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. This is the only way to get rid of foreign pressures and solve peoples problems, he said while answering questions in Bar Waqt programme of the Waqt TV hosted by Salman Ghani. PPP leader Begum Abida Husain presented her partys point of view. The PML-N leader questioned the veracity of the allegations purportedly made by Saudi leadership against Mr Sharif. He said nobody should forget the fact that when Mr Sharif returned to Pakistan, the plane for the travel was provided by none else but King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. Ahsan Iqbal said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif had to pay a price for following independent foreign policy. However, he said, this was not the case with dictators who followed foreign dictates. In his opinion the situation today would have been totally different if the PPP had adhered to the Charter of Democracy. Answering a question, he said former dictator Pervez Musharraf would certainly come back to Pakistan and face charges against him which could even take him to gallows. Gen Musharrafs fate would be no different from that of Chiles Pinochet, he said. Begum Abida Husain said it was not the PPP or the PML-N but the United States which ousted Gen Musharraf from power. Had it been for the PPP it would have booted him and asked who had got Benazir Bhutto killed, she said. She said Pakistan and other Islamic countries had been following US dictates. On the contrary, she said, India had not allowed any country to influence its foreign policy. A former ambassador to US, Begum Abida said Gen Musharraf was the biggest servant of the US. Mossad and RAW did not want to see democratic system in Pakistan and thats why they urged the US to let Gen Musharraf stay on in power. When Musharraf was unable to serve US interests it threw him out of power. Otherwise the PPP and the PML-N were unable to remove him. Replying to a question, she said after the 2008 polls it was easy for the PPP to join hands with the PML-Q. However, she said Mr Zardari preferred to take the PML-N along. Referring to the remarks reportedly made by UAE crown prince about Mr Zardari and Mian Nawaz Sharif, she said the UAE dignitary should better first judge his own conduct. She said anyone who had sent wealth abroad should bring it back.
