Sharifs, Shujaat may attend Ijtima today

LAHORE The series of special sermons at the second largest annual congregation of faithful continued at the Raiwind City on Saturday where leading religious scholars of the Muslim Ummah stressed upon the followers to mould their lives in accordance with the teachings of the religion of peace, Islam, and the sayings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH). The first phase of the congregation will end on Sunday (today) after Maulana Haji Abdul Wahab will offer collective pray at about 11:30 am while Maulana Mohammad Zubair will offer combined Nikah prayers of 150 students, who have already been awarded certificates from the main Tableeghi Markaz of Raiwind City. Insiders said as per routine schedule, the participation of PML-N Chief Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Mian Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif, PNL-Q Chief Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain, former CM Punjab Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi and other renowned political and top bureaucratic figures were expected in the collective pray on Sunday. Earlier, hundreds of thousands of people arrived on the third day of the congregation from different parts of the country including Attock, Bhalwal, Chillianwala, Chichawatni, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Jampur, Mailsi, Muzaffargarh, Pakpattan, Rawalpindi, Toba Tek Singh, Abbottabad, Battagram, Dir, Mansehra, Peshawar, Timergara, Dera Murad Jamali, Loralai, Dadu, Islamkot, Jamshoro, Rnipur, Sukkur, Tando Allahyar and Umerkot. Addressing the unprecedented religious congregation across the Muslim World, Maulana Haji Abdul Wahab said, The Muslims themselves were responsible of their ill deeds. Nothing fruitful outcome could be obtained till the Muslim Ummah purifies its belief and faith from impurities, he added. Maulana Abdul Wahab further urged the Muslims to beg only before the Almighty Allah as He was the alone creator of the universe. He said God Almighty always awards uncountable blessings to His creatures regardless their beliefs, race, colour and cast but Allah Almighty had promised to award numerous blessings to His believers in this world and the world in hereafter. Maulana Mohammad Yaqoob said on this occasion that the Muslims should spend their lives following the golden principles of Islam of simplicity, tolerance, patience, accommodation, and the worships of Allah Almighty. He said the Muslims should follow the role model (the life of the holy prophet Hazrat Mohammad PBUH) and do good deeds. It was insufficient to utter Kalma Tayyaba from tongue but we should also act upon the meanings of the Kalma and react in accordance with the codes of conduct set by the Almighty Allah in Kalma Mubarak, he added. Earlier, Lahore Police claimed to implement a special security plan on the last day of the first phase of the congregation. Insiders claimed a good number of extra police personnel in plain clothes and the officers from law enforcement agencies have been deputed to ensure safe departure of the faithful on this eve.
