UN envoy calls on Malik

ISLAMABAD - The United Nations (UN) Secretary-Generals Special Representative for Pakistan, Rauf Engin, in a meeting with Interior Minister Rehman Malik has assured that the UN would continue its support for the flood victims till their complete rehabilitation. He here on Saturday called on the Federal Interior Minister and discussed the ongoing efforts for rehabilitation of the flood victims in Pakistan. During the meeting, Rehman Malik highly appreciated the UN Secretary General for his timely visit to show solidarity with Pakistanis at the time when the worst floods hit the country. He appreciated the efforts of UN to raise funds for the flood victims. The UN chief personally visited the devastated areas and appealed to the international community for quick response, the Minister said adding that the services of UN could not be ignored in this regard. Rauf Engin Soysal on the occasion said that the UN Secretary-General was committed to helping flood victims. and assured that the UN would continue its support till their complete rehabilitation.
