ISLAMABAD The ripples of panic in the diplomatic circles created by the earth-shaking revelations of WikiLeaks have finally begun to show. A senior Saudi diplomat has slammed the whistle-blower website calling it rapists propaganda. If any body takes a piece of paper, writes his malicious ideas on it, and posts them at a website, what would you call it? This is just a stupid conspiracy to create rift in Muslim brothers, Saleh Al Mugheeri, Head of Media and Non-Political Affairs at Embassy of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, told The Nation on Thursday after this journalist had contacted him to get the diplomats views regarding WikiLeaks revelations about Saudi Arabia. WikiLeaks made a startling disclosure, earlier this week, that Saudi Arabias King Abdullah had lobbied for the US attack on Iran. This guy who is actually a rapist and faces charges in Swedish courts is out there to spread baseless information against us. Not only us, he has spared nobody. The leadership of every country has been maligned by his notorious ideas. This is just foolish. WikiLeaks is just a rapists propaganda, he said referring to the rape charges against Julian Assange, WikiLeaks founder, in Swedens Supreme Court. Why would Saudi Arabia conspire to attack a Muslim state? Its just a poor effort to gain attention, he said. When asked to comment on Abu Dhabis Crown Prince terming Nawaz Sharif as dangerous and President Zardari as dirty, he asked this scribe to contact UAE Embassy in this regard. The UAE Embassy, when contacted, refused to give any official version in this regard. Apart from the WikiLeaks disclosures, John Perkins, former chief economist of a leading American multinational bank, in his best-selling book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, had given a detailed account of the Saudi Arabias major role in consolidating US expansionist empire in the Middle East and Gulf. During an interview in 2004 with Amy Goodman, anchor of popular television show, Democracy Now Perkins had said, Royal house of Saud had agreed to send most of their petro-dollars back to the United States and invest them in US Government securities. The Treasury Department would use the interest from these securities to hire US companies to build Saudi Arabia-new cities, new infrastructure-which weve done. And the House of Saud would agree to maintain the price of oil within acceptable limits to us, which theyve done all of these years, and we would agree to keep the House of Saud in power as long as they did this, which weve done which is one of the reasons we went to war with Iraq in the first place. And in Iraq we tried to implement the same policy that was so successful in Saudi Arabia, but Saddam Hussein didnt buy. When the economic hit men fail in this scenario, the next step is what we call the jackals. Jackals are CIA-sanctioned people that come in and try to foment a coup or revolution. If this doesnt work, they perform assassinations-which is what weve obviously done in Iraq. Reacting to this statement, Saleh Al Mugheeri said, Rubbish This is all crap Nobody would buy this Tell me, just tell me why would we ever want an attack on Iran or Iraq in the first place? he asked.
