Winning IT firms role lauded

ISLAMABAD - In connection with the recent achievements by Pakistani IT companies at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) in Malaysia, Secretary IT Nagib Ullah Malik invited the winners to discuss ways and means to bolster information technology industry growth in Pakistan and increase the adoption of locally developed IT products. According to a press release issued here on Saturday, Chairman Pakistan Association of Software Houses (PASHA), Ashraf Kapadia, Member IT Tariq Badshah, and MD PSEB Zia Imran were also present on the occasion. The Secretary IT appreciated the winning companies performance that earned the laurels for the country. Pakistani IT companies won seven awards at the 10th International Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) recently held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They won in the face of stiff competition from companies from 16 countries including Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia are The Center for Advanced Research in Engineering (CARE), Avanza, CureMD, Aerocar and Solotech. He emphasized minimum regulations and maximum incentives to support the local IT sector and advised Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) to start additional IT industry support programs.
