PEF to start education plan for special kids

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - The Punjab Government was working hard to strengthen institutions of special education in public sector and Rs35m will be spent on setting up of computer labs in 37 special education institutions in the province, said Education Foundation Chairman Raja Anwar on Sunday. He stated this while talking to a delegation at his residence on Sunday. High officials of Punjab Education Foundation were also present on the occasion who briefed the delegation about public private partnership model of the PEF. Raja Anwar said PEF envisaged an ambitious plan to arrange need-based education for the special children in their nearby schools. The pilot project will be launched from Lahore and it is expected that this educational 'socialisation will sensitise the normal people about needs of special persons around them. The civil society should come forward to ensure enabling environment for the special people so that they could become useful part of the society, Anwar said.
