Sale of rail tickets in black in full swing

LAHORE The sale of rail tickets in black is in full swing at the Lahore Railway Station and some porters and police officials are involved in the malpractice. Faisal, a Karachi-bound passenger, while talking to this scribe said that he came back empty handed when he went to the reservation office for purchasing a ticket. He said porters could be seen roaming outside the reservation office to sale tickets in black. The passengers have no other option to get tickets on almost double rates, the passenger further added. The outside road of Railway Station has been converted into a street due to security reasons which caused traffic jam at the above said road. Further, it has also been observed that a contractor has charged Rs 10 per motorcycle rickshaw illegally. The facility of clean drinking water is also not available at the Railway Station. All the water coolers installed at the Railway Station can be seen out of order.
